Soul Food

I moved here from Cleveland Ohio in 2007. My Husband and I went looking for some good soul food....and to our surprise, not only does Columbus not have many Soul Food restaurants, but the few that they do have, closes so early that when you want to eat , you have to drive a country mile to get it. Well I would like to start my own soul food restaurant and sell good food like our parents used to make. Like ribs , chicken and fish, and polish boys, shoulder sandwiches and much much more. I remember clearly how I got started cooking.... I was 15 years old and I wanted to make my father dinner. So I cooked him some fried chicken mashed potatoes and green beans. We all sat down to eat. My father took one bite of the chicken and said in front of the entire family....... Damn! Rocki, I bit into this chicken and it bit me back! I knew then that My life would revolve around learning how to cook! Now I am 43 years old and I love to cook. And no.... the chicken is now well cooked(LOL). So in saying all that......I am so ready to get started! So if there is anyone who can help me to do that........remember I am open to all sugesstions!
